Privacy

This document is a draft placeholder. It describes the privacy posture Meraqi is being built to, recorded in ADR-0004. It is not a privacy notice, it is not legal advice, and it must be replaced by a professionally reviewed document before Meraqi onboards its first institution.

What we intend to collect

Meraqi is designed around collecting as little personal data as possible. The intended scope is a display name and an email address for each person, and the record of their membership or volunteering activity at an institution that invited them.

No addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, or demographic information are planned for the initial release. Adding any of them is a deliberate decision that gets recorded before it is built.

Children

Meraqi does not create profiles for children. Where families take part together, participation is recorded against the responsible adult.

Analytics and tracking

There is no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking on this site or in the application.

Fonts and third-party requests

Visiting this site does not cause a request to any third-party host. The site currently renders in typefaces already present on your device. When Meraqi ships its own, they will be served from this site rather than from a font network, so that remains true.

Deleting your data

Account deletion is intended as a normal feature rather than a support request: deleting an account removes the profile and its memberships, and anonymises the activity history that institutions rely on for their own records.

Where data is stored

Application data is stored in the United States.
